On August 1 at 8 PM ET, you’re cordially invited to Montgomery Manor. Meet your host for the evening, Laurence Montgomery VI, the billionaire businessman whose company hasn’t had the greatest press lately. Let Laurence welcome you to his beautiful home; just ignore the corpse in the way.
Dear Evan Hansen star, Andrew Barth Feldman, has gathered fellow Broadway talent to put together a virtual and interactive murder-mystery series called Braodway Whodunit. This unscripted show will follow the case of a murder at Montgomery Manor as performers try to solve the clues that lead to the murderer. They can’t do it without you though! The audience members will be the real detectives, trying to put two and two together to find out ‘whodunit’.
Audience members, or “detectives”, will get to follow along virtually and go through the different rooms of the manor to look for clues. The guests at the manor are the suspects and they will do whatever it takes to prove they’re innocent. Only the best detective will crack the case. Think you know whodunit? Submit your answer for points. The quicker you answer, the more points you will receive, and the person with the most points will be at the top of the leaderboard.
“I’ve been hosting murder mystery parties for almost ten years now,” said Feldman. (He’s 18 now… so he apparently started when he was 8.) “That was all the preparation I needed to sculpt this crazy, hilarious, scary thing. Each person is going to have their own experience; it’s the digital equivalent of immersive, interactive theatre. This platform is more than just novel, and it’s here to stay.”
Along with Feldman, Broadway Whodunit will include Broadway stars such as Alex Boniello (Dear Evan Hansen), Shereen Pimental (West Side Story), Gaten Matarazzo (Les Misérables, “Stranger Things”), Reneé Rapp (Mean Girls), Will Roland (Dear Evan Hansen, Be More Chill), Antonio Cipriano (Jagged Little Pill).
